The war doesn't stop when the battles end.

Emperor continues in Europe, following the controversy after its release in the United States and Japan. And it's certainly in a murky period of history, but still exciting, as the end of World War II always raises passions and emotions.

Inspired by true events, Emperor tells the story of what happened in Japan after the surrender of the Japanese empire, an event that marks the end of the Second World War. Following two such important figures as U.S. Army General Douglas MacArthur (who's played by Tommy Lee Jones) and General Bonner Fellers (Matthew Fox), in Emperor you'll see them struggle to defend the Emperor Hirohito (Kaori Momoi) to make sure he isn't be tried as a war criminal, a decision that would decide if he's put to death or not, and that will mark the fate of an entire nation.
